Higher education institutions are also encouraged to utilise the possibilities offered by Horizon2020 and ongoing national research funding instruments.

Fellowships for PhD students from Ukraine

There is a rolling deadline for applications. The programme is open for all Finnish universities and all fields of study.

NB! The EDUFI Fellowship for doctoral students from Ukraine is ending on 16 December 2024, which is also the last day on which applications will be accepted until 16:15.

In future, Ukrainian doctoral researchers who are or have been forced to flee Ukraine due to the Russian invasion in 2022 or later can apply for the EDUFI Fellowship. More information can be found through the link below.

Call for inviting researchers from Ukraine to Finland

The Research Council of Finland has periodically opened calls for applications to invite researchers from Ukraine to carry out research in Finland. The aim of the call has been to support researchers who are prevented from working in Ukraine because of the Russian attack and who need physical protection to be able to carry out their research.

The application is submitted by a researcher based in Finland, and the funding period is up to two years. The most recent call for applications has closed in September 2024. Information on a new call will be posted here as soon as it is available.
