Applying to higher education studies in Finland is pretty straightforward! You can apply on your own through Studyinfo.fi with support from the university’s Admissions Services.
If however you are thinking of applying with the help of an educational consultant, note the following:
A number of Finnish universities work with educational consultants who can help you pick the right programme, understand entry requirements, and get your documents together. Each university's website provides a list education consultants they partner with — just check once you know which university you want to apply to.
Keep in mind
- Applying for admission with the help of an educational consultant does not bring you any advantage in the student selection process.
- Some consultants charge fees, so make sure you know what you’re getting and what services you pay for. And if a consultant isn’t listed on the university’s website, be careful — some unapproved agents might not have your best interests in mind. When in doubt, reach out directly to the university’s Admissions Services. They’re always happy to help!
- If you are admitted, we strongly recommend you apply for your student residence permit independently.
Code of Conduct
Finnish higher education institutions have collectively put together an Agent Code of Conduct to set clear ethical standards for education agents and partners in international student recruitment. The purpose of the code of conduct is to provide guidelines for educational consultants to act responsibly and professionally with students, parents, and education providers. The code of conduct has been approved by approved by Arene, Rector’s Conference of Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences and Unifi, Rector’s Council for Finnish Universities.
