ISEP

ISEP(International Student Exchange Programs) is a worldwide network for international education, consisting of 265 member institutions in the United States and 35 other countries.

You can apply for an ISEP student exchange, if your home university is either an ISEP Member institution, or an ISEP Affiliate institution. You can find a listing of the institutions on the ISEP web site, see below. If your home university is a part of the ISEP community, then please contact the international office of your home university to find out more about your opportunities to go on an ISEP exchange!

North2North

North2north is a student exchange program exclusively for students of the North, studying the North. The programme offers opportunities for post-secondary students to get a taste and feel for cultures and people from around the Circumpolar North.

To be an eligible applicant for the north2north student exchange, you must be registered as a degree student at one of the participating institutions. Please refer to the programme website below for more information on which institutions and countries are participating, how to apply, the study catalogue and other useful information.

North-South-South

The North-South-South programme supports reciprocal teacher and student exchanges between two or more higher education institutions. The programme is applicable to projects in all those developing countries which are eligible for Official Development Assistance (ODA) as defined by the OECD. In the selection process precedence is given to Finland's primary cooperation partner countries and regions.

How to participate?

Individual teachers and students can only apply for an exchange through this programme, if their home institution is involved in a North-South-South cooperation network. If you are a teacher or a student in a participating country, please ask the international office of your home institution whether your university is a participant in the North-South-South programme. If so, they can assist you forward and advise you on how you can apply.

Other Possibilities

Your home institution may have exchange agreements of its own with Finnish higher education institutions.

The following programmes offer limited possibilities for students, teachers, researchers etc. for mobility between the institutions involved in the international networks and consortiums. For further information, please contact the international office of your home institution.

ALFA

ALFA (América Latina - Formación Académica) is a programme of cooperation between higher education institutions of the European Union and Latin America.

EU-Asia

The EUforAsia programme is a network of research institutes co-funded by the European Commission to promote better understanding within Europe of the Asian region, in particular of Asian middle-income countries.

EU-Australia

The EU-Australia programme promotes cooperation in the field of higher education. One of the aims is to set up frameworks for student mobility at postgraduate (Masters) level through the creation of a consortium of EU and Australian higher education institutions.

The Tempus Programme focuses on the development of the higher education systems in the Western Balkan, the Eastern European, the Central Asian and the Mediterranean countries through cooperation with institutions from the Member States of the EU.
